Thank you for your interest in volunteering

Volunteers are vital for any competition, and especially for ones as large and vibrant as Can-Am DanceSport Gala. We appreciate your interest in being a volunteer at this prestigious event.

For each phase we have an overall time slot and within that slot we designate a maximum of 8 hours per shift. You will be assigned to a task for 2–4 hours, then enjoy a break followed by another shift.

Preparation phase Wednesday August 13, takedown Sunday August 15 and driving:
During preparation we’ll create the needed infrastructure in the hotel. These include the decorations, border banners, signage etc. Some driving activities are needed too (pick up and delivery).

On Sunday the room has to be cleared and again some driving may be needed (pick up/delivery). Volunteers that sign in for this phase will be scheduled for certain tasks.

Every person working on these non-event days gets a free volunteer entry ticket to Can-Am DanceSport Gala for one day of your choice (standing room only).

Event days (Thursday August 11 – Saturday August 14 8:00am-1:00am):
Feel free to mark your preferred shifts on the volunteer form below. We’ll honor that as much as we can, but we take the liberty to put you where you are most needed at any given time. All volunteers for this phase have free entry for the days they are assigned, free parking if coming with a car, and your meals. During your assigned breaks you have free access to all areas and can enjoy the atmosphere of the Can-Am DanceSport Gala competition event.

Note: Volunteers are expected to stay for complete shifts. Indicated shift times are intended as guidelines only and will vary depending on the role. A dress code applies to most positions and shifts.

Waiver

By completing this form, I acknowledge and agree that the producers of the Can-Am DanceSport Gala (the “competition”), and its directors, committee members and other volunteers, along with their respective agents, successors and assigns, will not, in any circumstances whatsoever, be responsible for any loss, injury, cost of damage suffered or incurred by the volunteer, or for any liability to which I may become subject as a result of acting as a volunteer at the competition.

I confirm that I’m in good health and good physical condition, and as such am physically capable of serving as a volunteer at the event, and I understand that there is the potential that serving as a volunteer at the competition could result in physical injury.

I also give permission for the use of my name and picture in broadcasts, photographs, telecast or written accounts of the competition.
